Delta Air Lines is rewarding loyal customers with once-in-a-lifetime experiences they can buy or bid on with their SkyMiles points.
These unique experiences range from behind-the-scenes access to a pre-concert soundcheck, dinner at the infamous mansion of The Bachelor, a personal style session with Rachel Zoe, a visit to the Minnesota Vikings training facility, and more, Delta told Travel + Leisure. Delta is bringing the program back after originally launching it in 2016.
The experiences vary in price from 2,000 to 50,000 points, but most cost about 10,000 to 15,000 points. One over-the-top experience at a luxury ski lodge will run travelers 200,000 points.
“Being a SkyMiles Member is about more than traveling from place to place – it’s about being part of an exclusive ecosystem of opportunities tailored to your ambitions,” Dwight James, Delta’s S.V.P. of customer engagement and loyalty, told T+L. “With Delta’s new SkyMiles Experiences platform, we are bringing even more value to our Members while providing creative opportunities that inspire them to explore, discover and connect – even when they’re not flying with us.”
There is a limited number of each experience on offer, but a Delta spokesperson told T+L the company plans to add new experiences every two weeks. Some experiences will be available to purchase outright with the “redeem now” feature, while some will be available by auction.
Signing up for dinner at The Bachelor mansion with Serena and Joe from Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise and the hosts of iHeartPodcast’s “Bachelor Happy Hour,” for example, will cost 5,000 SkyMiles for two tickets. Delta will offer 10 chances to buy this package. Or you can opt to access one of five packages to view the pre-show soundcheck at a Tinashe concert for just 2,000 SkyMiles.
On the pricier end of the spectrum are experiences like a cookout at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, hosted by legendary chef Eric Ripert. That experience is available for auction starting at 45,000 SkyMiles.
Each experience must be purchased in full with SkyMiles.
