Spirit Airlines is heavily discounting flights for Travel Tuesday by offering a whopping 80 percent off base fares.

The airline’s sale, which is only valid to book for one day until 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, is available for travel from Dec. 10 through Feb. 26, 2025, Spirit shared with Travel + Leisure. The sale is only valid for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

To book, travelers must use the promo code “80PCT” on Spirit’s website.

Rana Ghosh, the senior vice president and chief transformation officer at Spirit Airlines, said in a statement shared with T+L last week the holiday season is a wonderful time to “offer our Guests great value so they can connect with the people and places that matter most.”

The discount only applies to the base fare, and is not valid on blackout dates from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, 2025.

In addition to the fare sale, the airline said travelers who sign up for the airline’s paid yearly membership program Saver$ Club on Tuesday will receive 2,000 Free Spirit bonus points. The program costs $69.95 per year and offers discounts on fares, baggage, and more.

Spirit offers several fare options ranging from its economical “Go” fares (most similar to the carrier’s previous bare-bones tickets) to its “Go Big” fares, which include the airline’s Big Front seat, free snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and more. The airline has also done away with most change and cancellation fees, including for its lower-priced “Go” fares.

Spirit also offers a Free Spirit loyalty program complete with perks like free Wi-Fi, free bags, and priority boarding, which depends on a passenger’s status level. That program has two tiers, Silver and Gold, and travelers can earn points with every dollar they spend with either Spirit or select partners.

The Travel Tuesday sale comes on the heels of Spirit’s decision to file for bankruptcy, which will require the airline to restructure. During that time, however, Spirit has said it will continue to fly and that tickets, credits, and loyalty points will be unaffected.
